class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Skoura<\/strong> is an important <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Palmeraie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">palm grove<\/a> of 25 km<sup>2<\/sup>located 1 hour from Ksar Ighnda.<\/p><p>It is one of the country's few palm groves that is still inhabited and cultivated.<\/p><p>It has a population of around 30,000 and 130,000 palm trees.<\/p><p>Skoura is a village <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arabe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Moroccan<\/a> belonging to the Skoura Ait or Ahl Al Ouast tribal confederation, whose name comes from the Berber Askur or Skur meaning partridge.<\/p><p>Famous for its many palm trees, including Amerhidil, which appears on the old 50 Dirham banknotes, Skoura is the first stopping point on the road to the <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dad%C3%A8s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dades<\/a> which leads to <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kelaat-M%27Gouna\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kelaat-M'Gouna<\/a>the <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gorges_du_Dad%C3%A8s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dades gorges<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boumalne-Dad%C3%A8s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Boumalne<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vall%C3%A9e_du_Toudra\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Toudra valley<\/a>.<\/p><p>It is in fact a characteristic feature of the architecture of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oasis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">oasis<\/a>.<\/p><p>La <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Palmeraie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">palm grove<\/a> has many <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Douar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">douars<\/a> (villages), whose inhabitants live mainly from agriculture: olives, almonds, fodder crops such as alfalfa, barley and other fruit trees (apple, apricot, fig and pomegranate).<\/p><p>Irrigation draws on the<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oued\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">oued<\/a> Skoura, and still employs mainly the traditional system of <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Qanat\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">khettaras<\/a> in response to the droughts of the 1980s and 2000s.<\/p><p>Some craftsmen, such as potters and basket-makers, are carrying on age-old traditions.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e790201 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\"
